HEIR TO A DARK LEGACY

Morgan is a baker who lives in the kingdom with his adoptive mother, Glail. He lives a meek life and puts on a chipper, bubbly attitude at work, but he's surprisingly stoic and discerning in reality. After all, his history is stained with the legacy of his father, Pinocchio I.

He's also been trained in battle by Glail and has the skillset necessary to take any opponent down, though he hasn't really had to use those skills. This dark side isn't something Morgan embraces or sees as an important stepping stone, though - he wants nothing more than a peaceful, drama-free life, ever since his father left the picture...

BACKSTORY

Morgan's father was Pinocchio I, the previous wielder of the demon blade Chastice. Pinocchio was a sufficient wielder, and Chastice gained a great deal of power working with him, feeding on the blood he provided her - meaning many, many lives were lost in his wake. Needless to say, Pinocchio wasn't really in Morgan's life during this time, and Morgan was chiefly raised by Glail, the vampire woman that Pinocchio I had a romantic fling with.

After Pinocchio I died, Glail felt remorse that Morgan was left without a father, so she adopted Morgan officially, trying to help him rebuild a normal life. Morgan is deeply indebted to Glail and wouldn't hesitate to snuff someone out if they threatened her, and Glail is similarly protective of her son. Despite this, at times he has a tugging feeling that he can't trust Glail. He's not sure how closely she worked with his father, or what they might have had in common, so Morgan just leaves the topic alone.

INTRODUCTION

He meets Prince Duffy as a customer at his bakery and makes quick friends with him, though he's oblivious to Duffy's involvement with the same Chastice that corrupted his father.
